Back in the day I’d call our wake up time Oh-Dark- Thirty. However, it’s not very dark this morning at 3:30am where we are. And just like that, it’s time to say goodbye to Norway – the land of fjords and tunnels.

Today we are flying to Reykjavik via Oslo. We are now in the land of Fire & Ice! They even have naturally heated urban water features with steam.

Plus…The Icelandic Phallological Museum – aka the Penis Museum. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes with many different creatures represented here. One can even donate their member upon death. As long as you have three witnesses to sign vouching you have at least 5 inches of stature!

The weather hasn’t changed much here since Norway so we’re looking for indoor stuff today and we find the Volcano exhibit right downtown.
It’s quite the story of Iceland’s relationship and resilience with Mother Nature. Iceland rises out of the ocean on the border of two major tectonic plates that are continually moving away from each other. I’m amazed at how they are able to harness the energy coming out of the Earth.

As the rain has now subsided we brave the outdoors again and take a walk through the city. We even manage to find a couple of seats in front of the England vs Argentina match. If only the pints weren’t $20 and the wine $25!
