Mexico City is filled with history, museums, and so much culture of which we have seen or experienced relatively little. We thought we owed it to this magnificent city to see something cultural.

That is how we ended up walking through Chapultepec Park. For reference, it is 2.5 times the size of Central Park, over 500 years old (just as a protected area – it was used as a park well before then) and is mostly geared towards Mexican culture and heritage as opposed to sports and recreation. It is undeniably gorgeous.

We didn’t walk through it all, but did end up at the 18thC Castle and explored that in all its beauty.

I convinced Jason to go to Six Flags for the rest of the day!! We didn’t even know it existed here. Turns out, we also got a lot of Mexican culture here too – the whole park was done up for the Day of the Dead. It was amazing – they really know how to get into the spirit,

We spent a few hours doing ALL of the roller coasters – OMG, talk about an adrenaline rush! It was awesome, we had so much fun. Then at nightfall, the spooky factor came out. Haunted houses (who knew Jason is good at the jump scare???), crazy people roaming about trying to cut you with a chain saw, smoke machines and lights everywhere.

We got back to our room exhausted, drained, delirious and so so happy. Sometimes you just have to let out your inner teenager 🙂
