Okay…but in the loosest way possible.
You know us. We barely hike and we certainly don’t camp. So the fact that today had a surprise hike (and we weren’t even a bit phased by it, or upset) and that we ended up in a campground…well…who the heck are we??

First on our list today was to drive almost 3 hours to see the Astuvansalmi Rock Paintings. When we pulled up to the dot on Google maps, we realized that we would still have to hike 2.5 km to actually see them. Oops. Good thing we had all of our belongings with us in the car because we absolutely needed a costume change – it is actually summer here. (Sorry Calgary peeps – we hope you’re not drowning!)

The rock paintings date back 3500 – 4000 years ago. And they are still here. I love seeing stuff like this. It is very humbling to realize just how many lifetimes came before us. Oh the stories these rocks could tell…

Then we had another 1.5 hours to our home for the next two nights. In a campground. Like, with real campers and everything. Again…who the heck are we? To be fair, we are not the ones in a tent. Nope. We actually have a really nice cabin with an amazing deck overlooking the lake.

We could almost get used to this kind of camping. Almost.
Maybe.
