Here we are, Thanksgiving weekend without a turkey in sight. No complaints though, we have an abundance of fall colours to absorb and enjoy! Today was a very quiet day in comparison to the last few weeks. It was very welcomed.
Time to leave the ‘big city’ of Dubrovnik. To be honest, we are quite looking forward to seeing (and fighting off) far fewer tourists. Those cruise ship crowds are no joke.
We are back to road tripping and once we have our car, load up all of our luggage, put our destination into the Waze app, we are off. Destination Plitvice Park. Five-ish hours. Except, well, we had to stop at one of the numerous cute little fruit stands to buy even more oranges. Have we mentioned yet how amazing the oranges are right now?? I think we’ve eaten our weight in them already.
Oranges are great, but not enough to sustain us, so we also stopped for a pizza lunch. It shouldn’t have surprised us that things cost way less out here than in those tourist centers.
We loved the road trip – the colours were absolutely magical and I think that Croatia can rival Rwanda for the amount of hills one country has. Never ending hills as far as the eye could see. Gorgeous.
These couple of stops meant we got to our hotel a bit later than anticipated. So, the scheduled activity will have to wait until tomorrow. No worries, we are ready for some down time.
Happy Thanksgiving all!
