With the extra days given to us by the closure of Puerto Vallarta’s airport due to hurricane Simon, we find ourselves stuck still in Mexico City for a couple of days.

We decide to check out once was a Canadian institution, SEARS! Yes, it’s still here in Mexico and wow…it’s what I remember what department stores being like. Clean, inventory ready to sell, and escalators that work!

I do my best Pretty Woman impersonation and buy everything off the rack. It’s quite the haul for me, a full bag of clothes for $400. Then it’s off to another Canadian icon, Tim Horton’s!

Who knew that Timmy’s was even here. We are looking forward to some home-grown cuisine. Perhaps a coffee, Boston cream doughnut – maybe even some Timbits!

However, it wasn’t to be. Somehow with 3 employees, and 4 trainees -none of them seemed to be interested in asking what we wanted to order. So, after 5 minutes we left and found a delicious BBQ place for lunch
On the way back we can’t help but stop at this pastry shop. So many things to choose from, from cake to pies, tarts, and chocolates. Somehow we persevere – we are strong!
