It is our last day in Morocco; Tangier to be exact, and we are excited to see the rest of what this area has to offer and then to venture onto our next country. It was a full day!
A big highlight here at the northern tip of Morocco is seeing where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. We got a beautiful viewpoint on this gorgeous, sunny day. Lucky for us, there was a sign advertising what was happening because it was impossible to tell that we were looking at two very distinct bodies of water. I’m positive there is a very detailed explanation as to why some days you can see the distinction and some days you can’t. Go ahead – go look it up. I’ll wait.

Next up on the itinerary was Hercules’ Cave. Legend has it that way back in the day, when Hercules was busy with all of his monumental quests, he ‘rested’ here for a night or two while traversing Africa. Ever since, this cave is named after him. I’m pretty sure there is no written record of this actually happening (LOL) but it is a good story and they have absolutely capitalized on the legend.

The cave was pretty spectacular, but what made it memorable was our unofficial photographer. He grabbed Jason and put him in a spot and then grabbed my camera. Click. Then he walked away. Five minutes later he was at our side treating us like models at a photo shoot. It was hilarious. We had no problem at all going along with him and letting him guide us. He wholly deserved his tip.

To finish off our official Moroccan day, we got a guided tour of the Medina. Before long, it was back in the car with Aziz so he could take us to the ferry terminal.

Shokran Morocco – you were fabulous. ‘Til we meet again!
Does this ferry bar serve wine?
