Day 1 in Beaulieu-ser-Mur and the Rosé Cup. Same format as the Sangria Cup tournament – a team of 4 playing doubles with a Super Set to 10 – each game won earns a point. The most points at the end of the 3 days wins! We all form our teams – 2 North Americans with two local French players.

To kick things off we start with a fantastic and quintessential breakfast. We had ham, pastries, cheeses, omelettes, and of course a variety of macaroons (you can’t just have one)!
On to the tennis! And let’s just say, the local players are super good. It’s like they’ve been playing their entire lives!
Janelle and I can’t resist checking out the two bays on either side of the peninsula and head out for a bit of a stroll. There’s tons of new, and old money here. We checked out the real estate listings board and they started at €1,000,000 for a two-bedroom condo with a ‘sea view’, then quickly escalated to up to over €18,000,000. I’m not sure if that one came with your own helicopter or not…but it should! Staff at the very least.

A quick stop to blend in with the locals enjoying a glass of wine with a good side of second hand smoke.
