You know what? Who cares? The water was divine.

We visited one of the most popular cenotes near Tulum, Cenote Dos Ojos (Two Eyes). This was definitely on my bucket list for this trip and it did not disappoint.

Cenote #1, the first eye was so clear and so big. Then we looked underwater and could see forever! It was gorgeous. The weirdest part? Watching all the scuba divers swim underneath us and then disappear into the rocks.

Cenote #2, the second eye was equally as clear and blue. From this one we swam through a very tight section being very careful not to hit our heads on the stalactites and our feet on the stalagmites, all while watching dozens of scuba divers swimming underneath us. Still so weird.

Cenote #3, the bat cave. For real. Not where Batman parks his Batmobile, nope. Where actual bats live. Which brings me back to the first words of this post.

The silky smooth film on the water – minerals or bat poop? I’ll let you decide.

We’ve already made up our minds and nothing you say will make us change them.
