Day 1 of the Beer Cup, and the competition is stiff for my Yellow Team! We’re going to need to put on a few more points on the board tomorrow to improve our standings.

Later in the afternoon Janelle and I pop down to Neuschwanstein Castle, you know the one that inspired Walt to create his castle in Disneyland? There are lot’s of tour times to pick from when we leave the hotel in Gröbenzell, so off we go down the motorway (autobahn) to check it out.
Last year when we drove the Autobahn we had some sort of Volkswagen that didn’t really like going above 160kph. This year we have an Audi Q2 – she settles in and gets into her grove at 175kph! We have her for all of our touring through Germany.

Anyways, back to Cinderella. We received sage advice earlier today to get the horse drawn carriage ride to the top of the hill. Well worth the 16 euros for the ride. Remember all of those tour slots for the castle? Gone! Crap!

Oh well, the views are still stunning, plus we see paragliders soaring above the castle. All is not lost.

On the way back to the hotel we check out a streetside harvest stand. We are starting to see them everywhere.
