While Jason was learning even more tennis, (Seriously, how much can there really be to learn? LOL) I went off on another cycling adventure. 20km into my ride yesterday I came upon a museum/historical house that looked quite interesting. That was my destination this morning.
I am so glad I made the effort. I loved it. The 18th Century mansion is perfectly maintained and I got to walk through all of the rooms and get a proper sense how the wealthy lived back in the day. Nothing in it was ‘recreated’, it was all authentic to the house.
I spent over an hour taking in all the treasures and artifacts. I will say though, I was less impressed with the farm animal section. The pens were really small and the pigs were kept in an empty stone hallway. It was really weird and sad. 🙁
The 20km ride back was really windy – I had a headwind or a crosswind the whole way back. Oh well, it gave me time to really check out all the roadkill on the road. So much roadkill! Hedgehogs, birds, huge, brown rats, and, believe it or not, a tortoise. That one took me by surprise! And yeah, I had to get a picture of it. Close your eyes if you don’t want to see it.

The afternoon brought the end of the competition for Jason. Luckily, it was not nearly as hot out today so it was only a 98% sweaty day. I think there might have been an inch on his shorts that wasn’t drenched. Maybe. It was, however, just as dusty! Those clay courts are no joke. Red clay dust gets everywhere. Luckily, the sink in our room is nice and large; it is used at least twice a day to do our disgusting laundry. We do not want either of our sweaty, stinky clothes messing up the clean clothes in our suitcase!
Ewwwww.
