The stats:
- Acclimatization Day! We needed this day of rest and didn’t do any side hikes. Luckily we had this day to kick altitude sickness’ butt. Our appetites have not returned.

We had a great night. Lots of sleep and we actually got warm throughout the night. However, although I woke up feeling so much better, Jason did not. Somehow he felt even worse. Oh no. He has 15 hours to perk up and get some energy. Luckily we have nothing to do today except rest and sleep.

They would love it if we also ate, and did a small acclimatization hike.
We did neither of those things.
The morning brought us some glorious sunshine so we channeled our inner cats and basked in the sunbeams while they lasted. We had hoped that we’d be able to see the summit, but nope. Once again, she remained hidden under some clouds. Will we even see her when we are up there??
Our chef made us some strong ginger tea to help with out nausea which we forced down while soaking up the heat from the sun. This has to help, right?
After an hour or so of glorious sunshine, the clouds rolled into camp and we got chased back into our cabin where we stayed for the rest of the day. Trying to rest, trying to stay warm, trying to feel better, trying to eat, trying to drink the tea. Just trying to stay positive. Because tonight is the night.
Our wake-up call came at 10:00pm. Our instructions were to wear all of our layers, pack only water and a few snacks (although I’m not sure why, we can’t eat them) because we won’t need anything else. It will be a long night/day.
I hope we’re ready for it.
