Sometimes your wishes get answered, even if you don’t voice them out loud. We didn’t do any riding at all today. It was pouring rain. Not drizzling, not sprinkling, but torrential rains. All. Day. Long. I wasn’t the only one happy to have a down day.

We got shuttled to our next stop in Donghae (eliminating 45km and 500 m of elevation – boohoo) and then our only problem was what to do now??

I opted to go visit the Bat Caves. (First of all, I wasn’t able to do the cable bike ride, because of the stupid rain and then I didn’t even meet Batman, or see the Batmobile!?!) Regardless, the caves were really cool to see and it was nice to get out of the rain and see something different.

The icing on the cake? After a snack with my team, Sammy and Chris, we got convinced (very easily) to go get a Thai massage. OMG. It started with foot soaks, then we were led to a common room where we all got a very intensive, very welcome massage. What a way to spend a few free hours.

Back to the hotel to join the rest of the group for dinner at an Italian pub. Yes, in Korea. But I have learned to trust our leaders and, once again, they steered us true. A delicious meal and fun evening.
