Determined to start the day off right so we are off to the spa for massages. These are so deserved and our bodies soak in every ounce of massage oil.
But we can’t stay here forever and it’s time to leave – at the crack of 1pm. Now before you think we’ve gone soft already, we scheduled our appointment for the rainiest part of the day.
And it worked! We depart under mostly cloudy skies, but no rain! For now…

We get at least two thirds of the way before the heavens open up where even the cows and livestock seek shelter

We roll into Falkenberg after 50k and into our hotel for the night, Hotel Hamngatan 27. Originally a 1906 warehouse and recently renovated into charming retreat right beside the Ätran river.

Time to see what this place has to offer!
We find bridges, ducks, sculptures, an old railway station and high school graduates playing baseball, but not baseball.

They have a bat, and a ball. They hit the ball, but they toss the ball to themselves and can only use one hand to swing with. None of them have gloves. There are no bases. We think they have a ‘pitching mound’. And they have formed a que for their batters. Sometimes two or three runners are on ‘first’ and run altogether.

Then suddenly a cheer erupts from the crowd and the Orange Team – suddenly the game is over.
Orange wins! Orange wins!
