Let’s see what there to do in Rabat.
Aziz picks us up this morning with a full schedule for us. First stop is the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower.
The tower was first started to be built in the 12-century but never finished. About 44m tall today and it was to be twice as tall.
As you walk through the plaza of columns that was to be one of the largest mosques the scale of this project becomes quite impressive.

The opposite side is the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. It contains the remains of three generations of the royal family.
Next are the ruins at Chellah Castle. Impressive display of both Roman ruins and a mosque from centuries ago. The downside? It’s on the heels of Volubilis yesterday. We got spoiled with all of the incredible mosaics and intact walls & columns.

After that we’re down overlooking seaside at Place Oudaya. Holy windy Batman! On the beach we see boys playing football while surfers are riding the waves inbound.

One last road stop today – the newly opened hockey arena. Yes, Rabat has a hockey team. Unfortunately they weren’t in action this evening.
