What’s life if you run out of firsts? Well, today’s first is sandboarding.
But first (see what I did there), we need to get to the dunes. And we’re going to reach them today on our 4-wheelers. Departing before dawn. How else are we going to see the sunrise this morning?
4-wheeling isn’t something we normally find ourselves doing, however, after today that might change! So much fun, and the noise isn’t nearly as annoying when you’re on them! Lol

Unfortunately the sun never poked its way through the clouds this morning, but we still had a blast carving through the sands of the Sahara. The dunes simply go on forever and ever.
Our guide finds us the perfect hill for us to give this sandboarding a go. To get us warmed up he gets us to sit on the board and ride it down the hill like a toboggan. Of course we impress him…it’s like we’ve been riding toboggans since we were kids!

Time for us to really shine and give this a go standing up – we are totally quick learners as have this mastered on our first go.

But our time in the desert has come to a close and we’re heading back north – big drive today with 7 hours on the highway. One of our stops is Cèdre Gouraud Forest (a cedar forest named after a French general). Why here? Well, this forest comes with monkeys!
