A very full day today! It was time to say good-bye to our home for the last 9 days. We can’t believe this first section of our trip is over. Wow. Time really does fly.
As Jason no longer has a bike, we are very certain that we no longer need the serial killer van. Time to try our luck at the airport Enterprise and ask them to exchange it. We couldn’t believe how successful that ask was. We were on our way with a brand new, much smaller van, in less than 20 minutes. Amazing. And we are sooooo much happier.
All that hard work negotiating (LOL) earned us some lunch. We head to a very popular beach town, S’Arenal, to check out their offerings. We end up at a restaurant right along the boardwalk, overlooking all the beach bodies and sailboats (of which there were dozens) and enjoy one of the largest meals of our trip so far. Holy moly.
Time for the adventure that Jason has been looking forward to all year – we are on our way to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy! It is a quick drive from lunch and we are checked in before we know it.

A Sangria welcome to all the tennis players here for the Sangria Cup. Sway bags filled with Rafa paraphernalia are handed out (YAY!!) and then we get to watch the final match of the Rafa Nadal Open. Center Court was packed with spectators and the skill level was top notch. These high ranking players may not be famous yet, but they are well on their way.
Added bonus? Rafa himself was there watching. So cool.
This is going to be a very cool week.
